Last Full Day

Steve woke up at 4 am this morning and was out of bed early... So I got up too. We had a nice coffee and breakfast and visit and the 2 out of the 3 girls are still asleep. Amara has already eaten and is taking meeko to the dock with Steve.
I can't believe today is our last full day. Tomorrow morning we clean up (the entire cabin!) and pack up for our next destination across the lake to camp for 5 days with Steve's family.
We have had such a wonderful time with our family and both Steve and I wish we could stay longer at the cabin. Really makes us want to buy one- one day!
Last night we went to bed dreaming of wake surfing... We both got the hang of it yesterday and are officially hooked!
Family meals together are the best

Drive in movie theatre... The minions... Silly movie!

These crazy girls loved tubing

Fun boat days... Trying to find caves and cliffs to jump off of

Special memories with cousins

The boys went out on the boat so the ladies sat and visited on the beach

Lina and I being good spotters 😜

My mother got up surfing... She is awesome

Sunday

Another awesome day! The weather hasn't been scorching but today was perfect. Around 25.....so nice enough to sit out all day. The morning started off with an intense game of tennis to warm us up while the kids played in the forest with meeko.
Then the beach all day. It has been so nice and relaxing. The boys went surfing for awhile and Steve did the surfing without the rope for the first time. He is such a natural! Then the men came back and the ladies went out. My mom even tried and got up on the surf board! She is awesome!
For dinners we all took turn making supper. Last night was our turn. We made blue cheese burgers with Greek salad. And for dessert blackberry tarts and whipped cream! The girls had picked the blackberries from our yard the day we left. Delicious!

The surfers. AJ took Ella on the board... It was awesome!
The big kids party rocking!
For the first time ever Amara wore her water wings and swam out to the dock with Danika to see Steve.
It has been so wonderful having my hubby here! First summer vacation for him in 6 years! His summer holidays the past few have included flying to Calgary to drive us home! I love seeing him here and being able to relax!

Vacation Time!

Our plan was to catch the first ferry Saturday morning and be up at 4 am. But after starting to pack the van Friday afternoon we decided to pack quickly and catch the evening ferry. We left at 6:49 pm and drove up just in time for the 7:30 ferry! Almost $300 (?!?) later we were across the ocean! No wonder they struggle with tourism on the island! For a truck and a boat one way that's what it costs! Sick!

Checking out the gorgeous sunset
This kid... Everyone was laughing at her because she is seriously like curious George!
Good times on the ferry!
My amazing hubby drove the 9 hour trip in one go. We pulled up to the resort at 4 am!!! So happy to have done it with sleeping kids!
Not much sleep that night though with kids waking up at 7 am 😳 but cousins and auntie and uncle took the kids so we could try and sleep a bit but we unpacked instead! So happy to be here all together in the place we grew up coming too!
Evening fishing
Awesome first day! Evening was spent tubing and wake surfing! Love it! The weather isn't supposed to be great we had rain today but we will still make the most of it. This morning we woke up and played tennis and now it's time for the beach!

Dad's Go Fishing... Mom's Go Camping!

Steve organized a fishing trip for 10 buddies at Nootka sound. So the wives took the kids camping at Gordon bay up on lake Cowichan. 12 kids to 5 moms. It was a ton of work packing but awesome when we got there!

Hubby all packed up
We were packed to the brim including Steve's seat! There would have been no room for him anyway!
Campfire ban so we got creative and made smore dip. Filled icecream cones for the kids and dipped crackers for the moms

Epic time! Hopefully an annual trip!
