LIFE

For Steve's day off this week I had booked a doctors appointment and was able to go in childless, it was quite nice! After my appointment I moseyed on over to the thrift store next door and picked up a few board games (in excellent condition!!) for a dollar a piece! I have always loved to play board games and find that playing games as a family is way better time spent than sitting and watching TV all night. That evening we sat down and set up the game of LIFE with Danika. It was sooo fun playing with her and we had some good laughs. As Danika was landing on EVERY single square that paid her and beating Steve and I, my favorite response to the money being thrown at her was when she sighed deeply and said, "I'm getting reeeeaaaal tired cuz I have so much money's."

A Perfect Day!

Today was wonderful, the sun was shining and the girls and I just had so much fun! While Adessa was taking her morning nap, Danika and I went out and washed our van with the power washer that was left and it looks like a new van! We had so much fun doing it together. When Adessa woke up we went over to camp for some brunch, followed by attending a 4 year old birthday party in the afternoon. It was so much fun! The kids played outside and had a sack race, Danika came in last... by far but kept on hopping away and after
told me "she almost won!"After decorating their own cupcakes, in which Danika's was covered in sprinkles, they went outside and were surprised with horse rides! Danika LOVED it, she had the most content smile on her face the whole time and apparently wanted to go faster. We had such a nice time at the party, but once it was over Adessa was ready for her nap. So we went home put Adessa down and Danika and I headed outside to hang out in our new pool! Some really good friends of ours gave us there pool, which is 10 feet wide by about 2 feet deep and has a filter system and everything! So that is how we have been spending our afternoons when Adessa is napping, it is so wonderful!
The evening was gorgeous! After dinner at the camp we went home, Danika stripped down and jumped into the pool and we stripped down ADessa and put her in her floaty toy and she just splashed around and walked along the pool. She is definitely a water baby!

Grandpa and Grandma come for a visit!
This past week went by so fast, but left behind some wonderful memories! My parents arrived last weekend, just in time for staff training to begin at camp. It was the perfect week for them to come as Steve was gone from 9 am and worked until 10 or 11 at night. Poor guy. These last 2 weeks have been brutal for Steve and while everyone else was at sessions, or getting a few days off, Steve worked straight through for 2 weeks and is now absolutely exhausted, and camp hasn't even begun! Anyways enough venting! All that to say that I was very glad to have my parents around to help out with the girls and to have a good time with.

The week started with Grandma and Grandpa taking the girls for a day while I went with Steve to Victoria for the camp church invasion. 200 staff fit into a church downtown and then after we went to Beacon Hill Park for staff building games. It felt like a date for us as we got to drive to Victoria by ourselves, with adult conversation! We also went out for dinner and some icecream which was the perfect end to the evening. During the day we were away my mom painted our brown garage door white, and it looks excellent! My mom did a bunch of gardening around the house and my dad installed a new fan in the roof, they were such a great help!
One day we visited Salt Spring Island and hiked around Ruckle Park, it was gorgeous! We ate some yummy fish and chips on the ferry ride home.

The end of the week we went up to Parksville area for a couple of nights and stayed in a beautiful resort in Nanoose Bay. The girls and I got very spoiled! Adessa proved to be a insomniac as she did not want to miss a thing and therefore did not nap and woke up every few hours at night. Even though she barely slept, you would not know it, as she ALWAYS had a smile on her face and made everyone laugh. She is such a little character!
On Canada day we went into Parksville to watch the parade and Danika got loaded up with Candy. We went back to the resort after and rested all afternoon then packed the girls up and went to watch Trooper with 100,000 other people followed by the firework show. Definately the highlight of the night was when Danika started dancing around to Trooper! It was so fun watching Danika rock out to the songs. We really missed Steve, but he was back at camp working away as camp starts today! Mom and dad left early this morning and I miss them so much already! Thanks for the great time and good memories mom and dad! Oh and the weather is finally full of sunshine and warmth... figures since they left!
