Ucluelet Trip- Day 1

We left for Ucluelet on Tuesday morning after dropping Meeko off at the kennel. I was able to rent a four bedroom home, with 2 bathrooms and a hot tub in Ucluelet for a couple of nights. We started our convoy and away we went! It was a fun trip up and once we were all checked in we headed to Long Beach for the afternoon. It was COLD, but we still had lots of fun.

Mom, Dad and Danika with their top down in their 'bright white sports car!'
"Thumbs up for Tim Hortons!"
So happy when she is on the beach
Steve played with the girls in the waves forever, they were all soaked and frozen!

Our turn...
As good as it got!
We spent ALOT of time in the hot tub! The girls LOVED it!

Mom and Dad come for a visit!

This week was a good one, with lots of new memories made! Mom and Dad came for a visit for the week. We were soooo excited to have them come over, it was much too long between visits. They arrived Sunday night, and Monday Steve had to work so I took them up to the lake where the girls and I like to walk.

Beautiful things for the girls from mom and dad's trip to Hawaii
On our hike... mom with her big walking stick and rubber boots
The owl we saw in the trees! It was so cool!
Meeko found this baby bird on the ground, we were tempted to take it and raise it, but thought better of it!

Mothers Day..

Was lovely, I woke up and Danika excitedly exclaimed, "Is it mothers day yet?!" And upon the yes she ran into her room and got the present she made for me in preschool. It was so special. A beautiful card and a BEAUTIFUL stepping stone. It was so meaningful because she had been so excited for a few days about the present, and she made it all by herself! Today we put it in the front garden so, "Meeko and Adessa can't eat it!"

After nap time we went to our good friends for delicious homemade burgers and buns and a cold stone creamery pie! I am so blessed to be a mom!!!

Hockey is Life Weekend

Today the girls were watched by a wonderful friend and I went out to Arbutus Ridge Golf Course (a BEAUTIFUL golf course!) to help our church in their big fundraiser of the weekend. It started today by a big golf tournament and Caroline and I got to drive the golf cart all day and sell raffle tickets to win the Grant Fuhr jerseys we were wearing. And to personally get Grant Fuhr to autograph it. At the beginning of the day we were able to meet Mr. Fuhr and get our pictures taken with him. He was a very kind, quiet man.... but I got a few laughs out of him by the end of the day! We had lots of fun, but the day was very cold and rainy so we froze! But froze with a smile on our faces! Now tomorrow is the big street hockey tournament, and the girls and I are going out to cheer Steve on!

Freezing by our sweet ride!
Sporting our Grant Fuhr jerseys. We had sooo much fun, and lots of laughs!

Double Slumber Party!

Tuesday night we helped some friends out by taking their 2 little girls for the night. Our good friends the Nagtegaals are dairy farmers and have not had a day off in 5 months! So when they had the opportunity to go away for a night we of course took the girlies! It went wonderfully! Tuesday evening was my final 2 hour girls club gathering at camp Qwanoes so I took the 2 older girls and Steve kept the 2 younger ones at home.. he is a great dad!
The night was a little tricky as we had Adessa in our room and at one time she woke up, waking up Kailey, which in turn woke Adessa again! And then Adessa was up at 6am. But I took advantage of a gorgeous morning and took the 4 girls and dog up to the lake for a long hike. I stuffed both babies in the single stroller, and they just cuddled together. The two older girls galloped like ponies the whole way up to the lake and we had so much fun together! The puddles were huge and we all got wet, but everyone was still happy, and we also saw a turtle! That was definitaley a highlight!

A turtle!
