A Princess Party

My beautiful princess is turning 4!!!
The 3 lil princesses all ready for the party
Making the cupcakes for the party

The kids got to decorate their own cupcakes with edible paint and stickers....yum???

We had Danikas birthday party a week early so that Auntie Linsey and Ella Bella would be here to celebrate with us. It was a costume party and there were princesses, a pony, superman, spiderman and a fairy who joined us. We played pass the glass slipper and kiss the (prince) frog. We are very blessed with good friends that we have made and Danika got some awesome presents!

A Lovely Visit

Last night ended my week long visit with my sister and niece. It was so nice to see them and we had a really nice time. Linsey came out this same time last year and it was gorgeous outside, like I mean hot. I remember being outside on our lawn at the little cottage with the girls in their swimsuits in the pool, my mom, sister and myself lounging on lawn chairs sun tanning. This year was MUCH colder, no sun and very rainy/dreary. However despite the awful weather we still kept busy and had lots of fun. We went for walks, visited the ocean both here and parksville, threw a birthday party for my little princess, visited mineral world and the ocean discovery center in Sidney. Ella and Danika played very well together, it was very cute to watch!
My beautiful sister!
Making home made pizza! Yummy!
This was how they watched their shows... very special.
Freezie break! Its hard work drawing with chalk and blowing bubbles!
The ocean discovery center
Going down in the submarine.. a little scary!

We took HUNDREDS of pictures... this is the ONLY one I have where they are all looking!! (Matching dresses from grandma!)

Rainy Days

The past couple of weeks have been cloudy and rainy, which does not make anyone feel too happy! However despite the clouds and rain we have found ourselves busy in the kitchen baking anything and everything, trying all sorts of new recipes and whenever we get the chance, slipping outside for some fresh air. Danika is so eager to help me with baking, so we have had lots of fun together in the kitchen. Adessa is such a busy, curious little girl. She has started pulling herself up whenever she can and is exploring everywhere in the house. She is also putting EVERYTHING in her mouth! She is very similar to a little chipmunk as her cheeks always seem to have something stored in them. I love seeing Adessa's little personality come out a bit more each day, she is such a happy little girl and so much fun! However as much fun as we are having entertaining ourselves at home, we are MORE than ready for Mr.Sun to come out and play! : )

Our "Wonder Bread" deliciously healthy, and totally kid proof to make.. however mommy had a little trouble waiting patiently for the bread to rise!!!

Slowing Down

At 9 months it feels like Adessa is learning something new every day, such as playing peek-a-boo with her blankie, or clapping, or uttering new words. And Danika is always surprising me with her perception of the world... I love it. Last night after playing hockey with the camp staff Steve and I came home to hear this awesome story from our babysitter... This wonderful girl who has volunteered many of her hours to watch our girls told us that Danika can not (or will not, we aren't sure) say her name so she asked Danika what she would like to call her, in which Danika very quickly replied, "Polka Dot."
Another story from this particular evening, occurred when they were reading Danika's bed time story, 'Gigi- Gods little princess.' There was a person in the book who said he was the King and Danika very seriously looked at 'Polka Dot' and said, "No, only Jesus is the King."
One morning this past week as Danika headed to our bedroom for our daily family cuddles Danika told us that "Jesus gave grace to the world." Amen sweetie. I find that in the quiet of the morning some of the sweetest words are spoken by a very innocent little girl. My girls teach me something new every day, whether it is to just slow down and literally smell the roses, or to go in the play room and get lost in the land of make believe. I learn many life lessons when I take the time to just slow down and enjoy life with my two baby girls. I hope I can remember this and make it a priority in our lives, as life just flies by!!

A trail of cheerios...

After dinner I had set Adessa down on the ground near the kitchen table (where there were a few crumbs underneath) and turned from washing the dishes to see Adessa crawling for a piece of a snap pea. I was sooooo excited! Steve grabbed the camera and tried to get her to crawl again. I found the motivation to make it work...
Congratulations my sweet little girl. 9 months old and crawling!
