Bless My Heart

My little Danika has blown me away the last couple of days. Last night it started with pulling her daddy aside and telling him that "Jesus wanted her to tell him something that happened at school." I won't get into details, and it wasn't that big of a deal, but the fact that it weighed on her heart and she needed to share it was a blessing to both Steve and I. We were able to talk it over, share that not everyone knows Jesus and right from wrong and pray with her about it.

Today after school as we headed to a friends for a play date, Danika told me that today in school she asked all of her friends if they knew God. She said everyone did, but her one little friend. This particular little friend later pulled Danika aside to ask her how to know God. Danika replied that "even though you don't know God, He already loves you. All you have to do is ask Jesus to live in your heart. And He helps you do nice and good things."

It is such a blessing to know that the things we talk about and *try* to live out at home are making an impact on our little girl. It is all we could ever ask for!!! So proud of you my little Danika... keep being a light for Jesus to your friends and in your school!

Matthew 5:14-16

The Message (MSG)

"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
